Perspective

Jaana did you think it could also have been a reflection of a powerful narrative about love’s duality: the angelic and demonic forces that intertwine in relationships?

Apart from wishful thinking to be held like this by you I never thought I could understand this picture in another way.

The embrace of the angel and demon mirrors the struggle between good and bad in love—a battle where purity and darkness coexist. It seems like a symphony between redemption and guilt, forgiveness and self-destruction.

You were right to send it to me after AMD, never knew our story would relate so deeply with this image. Our love carried both light and shadow and in the moments of vulnerability, the raw acknowledgment of flaws and a yearning for redemption or ,the turmoil of regret and the struggle for healing reflected the inevitable imperfections in love. Yet, these imperfections did not define it in  entirety, on the contrary they revealed the profound growth and introspection it inspired.

The uncanny clarity between us and this picture, its depiction of love, us being both  torment and a balm for each other, aligns with the symbolism in the picture. The demon, representing guilt and mistakes, holds the angel, a symbol of hope and forgiveness, their union suggesting that true love doesn’t deny imperfections but embraces them, striving for balance.

Or maybe this image could inspire reflections on finding light amidst darkness. It could also mean how love teaches us to embrace our humanity, with all its frailties, and how healing emerges not from denying the bad but from reconciling it with the good.
